BMC Complementary Medicine and Therapies


An official journal of ISCMR, the BMC Complementary Medicine and Therapies is an open-access journal publishing original peer-reviewed research articles on interventions and resources that complement or replace conventional therapies, with a specific emphasis on research that explores the biological mechanisms of action, as well as their efficacy, safety, costs, patterns of use and/or implementation.

An official journal of ISCMR, the 
Journal of Integrative and Complementary Medicine: Paradigm, Practice, and Policy Advancing Integrative Health is a leading peer-reviewed journal providing scientific research for the evaluation and integration of complementary medicine into mainstream medical practice. Canadian Interdisciplinary Network of Complementary Medicine Researchers (INCAM)


A non-profit organization and interdisciplinary research community since 2004, INCAM has become instrumental in defining a research community that focuses on traditional, complementary, integrative, and alternative healthcare approaches used by Canadians, including whole-person research and its integration into healthcare systems within Canada.

Cochrane Complementary Medicine


Cochrane Complementary Medicine

Cochrane Complementary Medicine is based at the University of Maryland Center for Integrative Medicine, where it has been in place since the establishment of the Field in 1996. There are three satellite groups: Cochrane Complementary Medicine China, based at the Centre for Evidence-Based Chinese Medicine, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, Cochrane Complementary Medicine Korea, based at the Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine (KIOM), and Cochrane Complementary Medicine Switzerland based at the University Hospital of Zurich Institute for Complementary and Integrative Medicine.

This international group of collaborators has contributed to systematic reviews of controlled clinical trials in areas such as acupuncture, massage, herbal medicine, and mind-body therapy, among others, and disseminated the results of these systematic reviews to practitioners, researchers, and patients.



Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine


Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine (KIOM)

The Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine (KIOM) is a government-funded national research institute. Since its foundation in 1994, KIOM has dedicated itself to lead the scientific verification, globalization, and standardization of traditional Korean medicine, as well as conservation and further development of the field while creating new values and contributing to the healthy living of people.

The first memorandum of understanding outlining the partnership between ISCMR and KIOM was signed in 2012.




International Congress on Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine Research (ICCMR)


Since 2006, ISCMR has partnered with a local community organization to host the annual International Congress on Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine Research (ICCMR). ISCMR encourages an international and balanced research perspective with all its hosting partners, and strives for global representation according to the availability of partner hosting organizations.
